A homage to the classic 3 legged stool
The three legged stool is an iconic design piece, being done by such heavy weights as Alvar Aalto, Lina Bo Bardi, Sergio Rodrigues and Philippe Starck, amongst others. The main purpose with the Geraldo Stool is to pay tribute to two of my favorites: Lina Bo’s Giraffe aond Aalto’s Stool 60. The most difficult thing was to have the presence of both felt, but in a product that has it’s own personality.
The most interesting aspect of the stool is the joinery work done in the legs, along with the details ins Ipê wood. The subtle way the curves complement each other as the seats are stacked is also quite charming. Its is a extremelly versatile piece that can be used for a multitude of purposes, with a young, hip and urban vibe to it.
